ABM and HUMSS are only 2 of the 4 strands under the academic track of the K-12 curriculum. This law or curriculum was passed in 2013 under the Aquino administration. ABM is defined as Accountancy and Business Management while HUMSS is defined as Humanities and Social Sciences. To illustrate, the ABM strand aims to enhance the students how to market and sell products. Furthermore, it teaches them to promote their products/activities effectively. HUMSS, on the other hand, aims to enhance the student’s creativity and a socially-aware person. To be specific, HUMSS students are trained to write poems and stories, and present their outputs in front of an audience. Moreover, they are exposed to literature, social issues and the current happenings in the government and society.
